A self-taught weaver, Anne Niles Davenport has worked at her craft for more than 30 years. After moving from an off-site studio early this year, her large computer-assisted production loom is planted in the main living area of her small house, where she designs and weaves fine textiles for personal wear and for the home. Davenport uses exclusively natural fibers (tencel, bamboo, rayon, cotton, silk, and occasionally wool and mohair), many hand-dyed by a California master dyer. Rich color, interesting textures and complex patterning characterize her distinctive hand-woven pieces. Davenport welcomes commission orders. |
